You know why adventure elopements are so great? Because it’s all about you and your partner. There’s no rushing, no stress, no trying to make everyone happy. Imagine getting ready, just completely relaxed and not feeling like you have to adhere to a strict timeline. Sounds nice, right? Absolutely. Want to have some drinks at your favorite brewery or winery? Let’s do it. Want to explore downtown? Sounds like fun. Want to play in the water at the bottom of an amazing waterfall hike? Hell yes. Want to jump into the ocean immediately after your ceremony? I’m totally in.
Virginia has beautiful, snowy Winters that are perfect for a winter wonderland elopement. If you’re looking for stunning fall foliage for your elopement, Virginia’s blue ridge mountains transform into gorgeous red, orange, and yellow layers with the turning leaves. Springtime in Virginia is also amazing, the wildflowers are SO pretty and you can find them all along the counties and farmland surrounding the blue ridge mountains. And, of course, Summers in Virginia are lively and warm, just think about the soft, subtle breeze among the lush green forests. Perfection.
I freaking love Virginia, you might have already noticed. I’ve lived in Virginia my whole life and have visited many states along the way. But Virginia is just different. You have the beach, lakes, cities, forests, and, my absolute favorite, the blue ridge mountains. Pick ANY location for your elopement and you’ll have plenty of options for adventure, I can promise you that.
And Virginia has an abundance of them. Blacksburg, Winchester, Cape Charles, Charlottesville, Staunton. There are a ton of cute towns to explore. And the best part? They’re all close to so many adventures. Downtown Blacksburg is just down the road from the stunning Cascades in Jefferson National Forest. Downtown Charlottesville is only a few minutes from the Southern entrance of Shenandoah National Park and the Northern entrance of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Cape Charles is only one hour from Virginia Beach. The proximity to multiple locations allows you to explore different places for a true adventure elopement.
Literally, what better way to start your lives together than an all day adventure? Imagine years from now, looking back at the photos on your wall of the time that you and your partner decided to have a day full of exploring and having fun to celebrate the beginning of your marriage. Looking at the photos takes you back to that moment in time. The smell of the air, the taste of the food, the sound of the laughter, the unrestrained feeling of the wind on your face, the sight of the fulfilled smiles. It’s a wonderful story to share, don’t you think?
I’m just putting photos of my couple’s having fun all over Virginia here. Okay, ENJOY 🙂
